The strong association of DGCR8 downregulation in follicular-patterned carcinomas is also present in FTC, where underexpression is again present in most of the cases, 66.7% (4 out 6) and with significant differences (paired t-test, p < 0.05), Figure 2C. An interesting case in this series, was a multifocal PTC in a patient with two subtypes, a cPTC and a FV-PTC with Q61R NRAS mutation that in accordance with the previous findings, presented DGCR8 overexpression and underexpression, respectively, in the different components. This evidence concerns the gene RET and carcinoma.
