As is evidenced in Table 5 and Figure 4, IL6 (AUC 0.844, 95% CI 0.736–0.953, p = 0.0000, cut-off 33.314), IL8 (AUC 0.771, 95% CI 0.651–0.890, p = 0.0000, cut-off 0.803), and IL18 (AUC 0.714, 95% CI 0.582–0.846, p = 0.0014, cut-off 0.327) separately had satisfactory diagnostic value for GDM; therefore, it seems that the expression of each of these genes could correctly discriminate between GDM patients and those with NGT. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is gestational diabetes.
