While there are no FDA-approved therapies that specifically target the vast array of cytogenetic abnormalities in adult AML, the addition of the anti-CD33 antibody-drug conjugate GO to standard chemotherapy appears to provide survival benefit in core binding factor AML, a favorable cytogenetic subgroup that includes t(8;21) and inv(16) [49,52,83]. Here, CD33 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
