VEGFA and neoplasm: A possible conjecture based on these observations is that AM produced by tumor cells may facilitate the entry of tumor cells into the lymphatic endothelium by stimulating the growth and dilation of peritumoral lymphatic vessels, also preventing increases in tumor pressure, as identified in previous findings for other lymphangiogenic growth factors [47,48], VEGF [49,50], and platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB) [51].
