[58] found that miR-101 directly inhibited the mRNA expression and protein level of DNMT3A by complementary binding with the 3′-UTR region, leading to increased methylation level in the promoter regions of tumor suppressor genes, thus suppressing tumor growth and invasion, but the miR-101 expression was frequently down-regulated in HBV-related HCC tissues [58].
