Ectopic overexpression of miR-101 suppressed cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) activation and abrogated the promoting effect of CAFs on migration and invasion of non-small cell lung cancer cells (NSCLC) through attenuating CAFs’ effect on epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) process, metastasis-related genes matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP9), twist family BHLH transcription factor 1(TWIST1-), and AKT/endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) signaling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene NOS3 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
