Compared with a control peptide, caerin 1.1/1.9 significantly activated tumour infiltrating macrophages, both F4/80+Ly6C+ or F/40+Ly6C− macrophages secreted significantly more IL12, less IL10 and IL6 (Figure 1), coinciding with our previous results that caerin 1.1/1.9 repolarise the tumour macrophage to the M1-like type while reducing the M2-like macrophages.
