The expression of IDH1 in renal cell carcinoma is significantly lower than that in adjacent tissues, and the decreased expression of IDH1 may affect the development of renal cell carcinoma through hypoxia signaling in vitro and in vivo; the overexpression of IDH1 can reduce the expression of HIF-1α and HIF-2α proteins, subsequently inhibiting cell proliferation [56]. Here, IDH1 is linked to hereditary clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
