When sVCAM-1 levels were evaluated before the initiation of and four weeks following treatment with Gemcitabine from plasma samples of patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer, those patients with a decrease in the VCAM-1 level showed significantly longer progression-free survival and overall survival than those patients with an increase in their sVCAM-1 level [45]. This evidence concerns the gene VCAM1 and pancreatic neoplasm.
