Inhibition of Gal1R and GalR2 in Mdr2−/− mice reduced IBDM and the expression of fibrosis markers, whereas GalR2 antagonist (M871) only attenuated liver fibrosis without changing IBDM, suggesting that the promotion of HSCs activation and fibrosis gene expression by galanin is mediated by Gal2R [98]. Here, GALR2 is linked to Hepatic fibrosis.
