In three mouse models of liver fibrosis (chronic CCl4 intoxication, chronic thioacetamide intoxication, and BDL), CB1 antagonist (SR141716A) and knockout of CB1 gene alleviated liver fibrosis by reducing the expression of fibrosis markers TGF-β and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA). The gene discussed is CNR1; the disease is Hepatic fibrosis.
