UBA52 and Parkinson disease: Despite the downregulation of UBA52 levels during the acute phase of disease onset, we propose that CHIP-UBA52 allied K63-linked HSP90 ubiquitylation spikes during sporadic PD conditions due to the increase in protein misfolding and HSP90 protein levels and to maintain the homeostatic protein turnover, highlighting the indispensable role of UBA52 in maintaining HSP90 levels.
