Previous studies have shown that inhibiting the fatty acid oxidase carnitine palmitoyltransferase‐I (CPT‐I) can reduce ventricular reconstruction and improve heart function,23 and we have also found that the recovery of cardiac function after MI in Pycr1‐knockout mice is associated with a decrease in the fatty acid oxidation levels; these findings lay a solid foundation for future research on fatty acid metabolism after MI. Here, PYCR1 is linked to myocardial infarction.
