By inhibiting the expression and activity of YY1, anisomycin cannot initiate the transcriptional activity of the core genes in the lipoic acid pathway (i.e., FDX1, DLD, DLAT, and PDHB), and this induces the accumulation of cytotoxic molecules that eventually leads to potential cuproptosis in ovarian cancer stem cells. This evidence concerns the gene FDX1 and ovarian carcinoma.
