A whole bulk DNA analysis of glioblastoma tissues led to the identification of mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase 1/2 (IDH1/2), phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (CDKN2A), tumour protein p53 (TP53), parkin RBR E3 ubiquitin protein ligase (Park2), protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type D (PTPred) and neurofibromin 1(NF1) genes. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is glioblastoma.
