GSTM1 and Schnyder corneal dystrophy: Gazelle-Multispectral presented in this manuscript implements multispectral imaging into a point-of-care hemoglobin electrophoresis test, which allows sensitive detection and quantification of low concentration Hb S with a limit of detection at 4%, thus enables SCD screening for Hb variants among newborns having low levels of Hb A and Hb S. The Gazelle-Multispectral algorithm automatically provides Hb variant identification and quantification results of relative Hb percentages (Figure 1E) and does not require users to perform result interpretation.
