This study included 205 patients; 22 patients had AL. Three days postoperatively, PCT was a better predictor for AL than CRP and WBC. The cut-off value for PCT of 4.93 ng/mL had the highest sensitivity, specificity, and negative predictive value on the fifth postoperative day. If PCT is combined with CRP and WBCs, it improves its predictability. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and axial length measurement.
