In terms of cardiac impairment, several echocardiographic findings are suggestive for PIMS-TS such as myocardial dysfunction, pericarditis, valvulitis or coronary abnormalities, but elevated troponin or NT-proBNP might also be encountered in patients with PIMS-TS and cardiac involvement [5, 6, 7]. The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is pericarditis.
