Using triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) as a model, we show that compared to normal human breast epithelial cells, the TNBC cells, MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 that harbor constitutively active STAT3 also express higher glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), thioredoxin reductase (TrxR)1, NADPH, and GSH levels for survival. Here, STAT3 is linked to triple-negative breast carcinoma.
