All four biopsies that were positive for P2-HNF4α, p-STAT3 and c-Myc at the same time were associated with obesity, diabetes and hypertension and 50% of these were associated with advanced fibrosis however this was not statistically significant likely due to the small number of cases positive for all three markers. The gene discussed is HNF4A; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
