In 2020, atezolizumab (immunotherapy consisting of a programmed cell death ligand 1 [PD-L1] inhibitor) in combination with cobimetinib and vemurafenib was given to patients with BRAF V600 mutation–positive melanoma.44 Based on the results of the IMspire150 study, the FDA approved the combination of atezolizumab, vemurafenib, and cobimetinib therapy for metastatic melanoma.
