A hemorrhagic stroke in COVID-19 may result from the following probable causes: the inflammatory response, or cytokine storm, that occurs alongside the infection, and the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE-2) receptors that are expressed in intracranial arteries, which permit the SARS-CoV-2 virus to damage the arteries and lead to rupture of the vessel wall [12, 37]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and infection.
