In line with central roles of Ccn2/Ctgf in liver fibrosis, we have observed that deletion of exon 4 in this gene in a tamoxifen-inducible manners in floxed mice that carry ubc-Cre/ERT2 transgene decreases ductular reaction and biliary fibrosis after the feeding of a biliary toxin 3,5-diethoxycarbonyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC) (Pi et al. 2015). The gene discussed is CCN2; the disease is Hepatic fibrosis.
