Similarly, when MPO protein expression was evaluated by IHC (Figure 7F,G), we observed increased levels in CD73−/− pancreata compared to WT mice after caerulein‐only treatment; however, NECA administration promoted a markedly decrease in MPO levels in CD73−/− pancreata when compared with caerulein‐only CD73−/− treated mice only, suggesting both neutrophils and MPO secretion may participate in the metaplastic process during an acute pancreatitis setting.
