It was previously mentioned that glioblastoma emerges in two different types: 1) primary, in which it arises de novo, or 2) secondary, where it progresses from a lower grade astrocytoma (Ohgaki and Kleihues, 2013) but following the 2021 classification, the term “secondary glioblastoma” which commonly involves R132H mutation in IDH1 (92.7% of various brain tumors) was annulled (Balss et al., 2008; Louis et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene IDH1 and glioblastoma.
