We also observed persistence of this cell type in two mouse models of colitis (Supplemental Fig. 7A), and the analysis of a previously published dataset containing single-cell data from healthy controls and IBD patients48 showed higher expression of a gene module containing the TMIC-associated genes ZBTB16, KLRB1, IL18R1 and IL23R in CD4 T cells from non-inflamed and inflamed tissue samples compared to healthy controls (Supplemental Fig. 7B), supporting the idea that TMIC cells are present in inflamed colitic tissue. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and colitis.
