The RT-qPCR results (Figure 11B) showed that the mRNA levels of the proapoptotic genes Caspase 3, Caspase 9 and BAX in the tumor-adjacent tissues were significantly higher than those in the normal tissues, while the levels of the antiapoptotic genes BCL-X and BCL-2 in the tumor-adjacent tissues were significantly lower than those in the normal tissues.
