ROC analysis revealed that the combination of miRNAs (Let-7a, miR-221, and miR-222) had a significant superiority (AUC = 0.961; 95% CI = 0.882), than each miRNA separately; viz let-7a (AUC = 0.801, 95% CI = 0.684–0.919), miR-221 (AUC = 0.786, 95% CI = 0.666–0.906), and miR-222 (AUC = 0.758, 95% CI = 0.583–0.932) and AFP alone (AUC = 0.766; 95% CI = 0.632–0.901) in discriminating patients with HCC from those with HC. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
