Although few reports have noted SGK1 reduction and its correlation with poor prognosis in adrenocortical carcinoma (Ronchi et al., 2012) most studies have demonstrated that multiple types of tumors, such as colon, breast, and prostate cancer, exhibit higher levels of SGK1 expression than normal tissues (Sommer et al., 2013; Xiaobo et al., 2016; Liu et al., 2017; Lee et al., 2019).
