Increased expressions of Crystallin Alpha B (Cryab) and apolipoprotein E (ApoE) have been associated with protective reactive gliosis in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) (Ophir et al., 2003; Ousman et al., 2007; Liu et al., 2015; Kuipers et al., 2017; D’Agostino et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and multiple sclerosis.
