Considering that disturbance of MccY may have an impact on the virulence of S. Typhimurium, one DEG involved in biofilm, namely, cspE (downregulated), nine DEGs involved in flagellar assembly, namely, fliK, fliP, fliL, flhE, motA, flgF, flhC, and flgG (8 upregulated) and flgM (1 downregulated; negative regulator of flagellin synthesis), and three DEGs involved in Salmonella infection, namely, htpG, sseF, and sseG (downregulated), were selected to show the fold changes in these genes’ expression levels through RNA-seq results (Fig. 5E).
