By using an extreme phenotype approach and burden tests, we have found three new candidate genes for tinnitus were identified: NAV2, TMEM132D and CACNA1E. First, we found a burden of missense variants in the mutation-intolerant gene NAV2 in the SEVTIN and JAGUAR cohorts, and a large deletion in the same gene the in one patient. Here, CACNA1E is linked to Tinnitus.
