DPYSL2 and spinal cord injury: Recently, it has been observed that DPYSL2 is capable of promoting neural stem cell differentiation into neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes that could then be used to replace necrotic cells caused by brain or spinal cord injuries (Xiong et al, 2020), suggesting a potential role for this enzyme in contributing to the development of neural stem cell–based therapeutic treatments for brain and spinal cord injuries.
