This prognostic study found that a prediction model and nomogram including the surprise question, clinical characteristics (age, cancer type prognosis, visceral metastases, brain metastases, ECOG performance status, weight loss, pain, and dyspnea), and laboratory values (hemoglobin, CRP, and serum albumin) can support clinicians in more accurately identifying patients who are at risk of dying within 1 year. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and cancer.
