In the literature, high levels of IgG1 against AMA1 were independently associated with protection from clinical malaria in Sudan while high IgG3 levels to AMA1 and IgG1 levels to MSP1-19 were found to be strongly predictive of a reduced risk of symptomatic malaria and high-density P. falciparum infections in Papua New Guinea [37].
