FDG-PET has demonstrated abnormal brain metabolic activity in several types of inherited dystonia including TOR1A,28THAP1 and SGCE29 in small numbers of middle-aged adults and also in paediatric dystonia due to PANK2 neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA).30 However, reports of FDG-PET findings in other more recently described inherited dystonias and the commoner acquired dystonias are lacking.
