IFNG and neoplasm: NK cells can produce proinflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ and TNF) and chemokines (CCL2, CCL3, CCL4, CCL5, CXCL8, and CXCL10) when stimulated with tumor cells expressing activating ligands (Fauriat et al., 2010), tilting their surroundings to a more hostile environment.
