Colorectal cancer patients with KRAS mutations, specifically exon 2 codons 12 and 13, do not respond to anti-EGFR therapies such as cetuximab or panitumumab alone or in combination with oxaliplatin (Eloxatin; Sanofi-Aventis, Gentilly, France)-based chemotherapy and are believed to have poor survival.23,26-28KRAS exon 2 mutation testing is recommended to predict the benefit from anti-EGFR therapies.29 Here, KRAS is linked to colorectal cancer.
