Hypertriglyceridemia is a hallmark lipid abnormality in patients with CKD (10, 11) and mainly results from the dysfunction of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic lipase that are responsible for the degradation of TG-rich chylomicron and low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) (11, 12). This evidence concerns the gene LPL and chronic kidney disease.
