Expression of genes associated with cardiac function, ATP2A2, RYR2, and CACNB2 (associated with calcium dynamics); blood pressure and fluid balance (CORIN – processes natriuretic peptides); ion channel stability and function (KCNJ2, SCN9A, SCN8A, SCN2B); and protection from cardiac remodeling and heart failure (KCNJ11) were downregulated in hiPSC-CMs following Activin A exposure. This evidence concerns the gene ATP2A2 and heart failure.
