Downregulation of SEPT5 can inhibit the progression of PCa, possibly by increasing immune cell infiltration levels, especially CD8+ T cells, through promotion of IFNG-inducible chemokines (CCL5, CXCL5, CXCL9, CXCL10) and cytokine gene expression (IL-1, IL-6, IL-7, IL-12, etc) associated with immune cells. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is posterior cortical atrophy.
