To determine whether the Nrf2 signaling pathway is involved in sepsis immunosuppression injury, we investigated if 4-octyl itaconate (OI), an itaconate derivative, could inhibit LPS-induced oxidative stress by activating Nrf2 signaling in inflammatory RAW264.7 macrophages and in a mouse model of sepsis. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and Sepsis.
