In contrast to aging, increased glycolytic proteins (ENO1, PGM1, PGK1, PKM, and ALDH2) and decreased content of OXPHOS proteins (NDUFV2, PPA2, COX6B1, ATP5F1A, ATPF1B, and ATPF1C) were observed with AMD progression (Figures 4(c) and 4(d), Table S4). The gene discussed is ENO1; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
