In contrast to aging, increased glycolytic proteins (ENO1, PGM1, PGK1, PKM, and ALDH2) and decreased content of OXPHOS proteins (NDUFV2, PPA2, COX6B1, ATP5F1A, ATPF1B, and ATPF1C) were observed with AMD progression (Figures 4(c) and 4(d), Table S4). This evidence concerns the gene COX6B1 and age-related macular degeneration.
