In contrast to aging, increased glycolytic proteins (ENO1, PGM1, PGK1, PKM, and ALDH2) and decreased content of OXPHOS proteins (NDUFV2, PPA2, COX6B1, ATP5F1A, ATPF1B, and ATPF1C) were observed with AMD progression (Figures 4(c) and 4(d), Table S4). Here, ALDH2 is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
