SLC7A4 is involved in amino acid transmembrane transport activity and has been shown to have a higher expression in melanoma tissues than in normal skin tissues, while the relatively high expression of SLC7A4 has a poorer prognosis in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) patients, which indicates that it may serve as a novel tumor marker in SKCM (39). This evidence concerns the gene SLC7A4 and melanoma.
