We found that the mRNA expression of CCL17, IL-4, IL-6 and IL-13 was significantly increased in the asthma group (CCL17: *p < 0.05, 5.02 ± 1.55 vs. 1.00 ± 0.44; IL-4: *p < 0.05, 5.51 ± 1.84 vs. 1.00 ± 0.32; IL-6: *p < 0.05, 4.98 ± 1.42 vs. 1.00 ± 0.24; IL-13: *p < 0.05, 4.86 ± 1.39 vs. 1.00 ± 0.28, asthma vs. control group) and a trend toward increased IFN-γ and IL-5 (IFN-γ: 1.81 ± 0.44 vs. 1.00 ± 0.14; IL-5: 1.62 ± 0.65 vs. 1.00 ± 0.24 asthma vs. control group).
