HAVCR2 and Sepsis: used LPS to treat peritoneal macrophages derived from a mouse model of sepsis for 4 hours and found that the expression of Tim-3 mRNA on the cell surface was significantly up-regulated, but they used the same concentration of LPS to treat mouse-derived RAW264.7 cells and found that Tim-3 mRNA expression was down-regulated with the increase of LPS concentration, and decreased to the lowest level at 100ng/ml, suggesting that the regulation of Tim-3 by TLR4/LPS signaling pathway is closely related to the cell origin, and this signaling pathway affects macrophages from different sources (113).
