LGALS1 and infection: In these genes, features associated with cellular activation and differentiation (B2M, IL7R, ZFP36, ZFP36L1, ZFP36L2, CD8A, KLF6, and LGALS1) may be related to the function of CD8+ memory T cells at different stages of infection, whereas features associated with cell chemotaxis (SELL, CCL5, CXCR4, and NFKBIA) could be linked to the recruitment of CD8+ memory cells (Xiong et al., 2020).
