The age-related upregulation of bromodomain adjacent to zinc finger domain 2B (BAZ2B) and euchromatic histone lysine methyltransferase 1 (EHMT1) underlie the down-regulation of genes involving core metabolism (mainly ribosome and oxidative phosphorylation), which have been consistently reported in patients with AD and mild cognitive impairment [26]. This evidence concerns the gene EHMT1 and Alzheimer disease.
