Several studies using different techniques, such as Sanger sequencing, and allele-specific quantitative PCR (ASqPCR) [11–14], confirmed that MYD88L265P is present in >90% of WM, whereas it is absent in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) (including IgM isotype) [15], and less frequently found in marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) with plasmacytic differentiation or chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) [16, 17]. The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is marginal zone lymphoma.
