Few other relevant genes associated with enhanced risk factors are Serine Protease 1 (PRSS1), a gene related to hereditary pancreatitis, CFTR, CTRC, Carboxypeptidase A1 (CPA1), PRSS1, and SPINK1 enhance the pancreatitis risk by promoting harmful trypsinogen activation or impaired trypsinogen degradation and/or trypsin inhibition [2, 3]. Here, CPA1 is linked to hereditary chronic pancreatitis.
