TP53 and neoplasm: The DNA hypomethylation stimulates the expression of oncogenes such as the transcriptional co-activator with the PDZ- binding motif (TAZ), pP38, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (pSTAT3), and C-Jun N-terminal kinase (pJNK), while impairing the expression of tumor-suppressor genes, such as p53, through hypermethylation.
