Paradoxically, in spite of the term “TNF”, TNF inhibitor use did not increase the occurrence of cancer in patients with RA (incidence rate ratio = 0.913, p = 0.546) [107], or increase the risk of cancer recurrence (HR = 1.06, 95% CI 0.73–1.54 for pooled cancer data, HR = 1.1 with a 95% CI 0.4–2.8 for breast cancer) [108,109]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and cancer.
